Introduction
Bistro 129 is causing waves in Baldivis and the surrounding area since its recent opening. It promises to deliver modern Australian cuisine with a unique twist and warm hospitality. We were excited to visit last week and give it our honest restaurant review.
My family were looking forward to giving this new establishment a go after reading the outstanding reviews on Google from happy locals. I personally know Jen (one of the owners) and we wanted to show our support for their new business.
Fun fact - I used to dabble in graphic design and actually designed the Bistro 129's logo for them.

Ambience & Atmosphere
The setting is unique, Bistro 129 which is located on the edge of Baldivis, reminds us of the good old days when Baldivis was full of lush trees and bush land before land development went into overdrive. The tall old tree's gently hug the bistro. Outside you can see wild birds hopping about and it feels instantly relaxing as you peruse the menu.
Décor & General Layout
The décor is very modern and airy with open windows throughout to allow panoramic views of the outside gardens and bush.
Lighting & Temperature
Bright and airy with plenty natural sunlight thanks to the windows. Air conditioning was on to keep customers cool and comfortable. Gentle, soft lighting as it gets dark outside.

Service & Staff
Staff Efficiency & Attentiveness
The business has well trained staff. You can tell they understand what good service is. The waiting staff explain any specials and the wines available from local wineries.
As there was no vegetarian options on the menu, we asked what could be made for our sons girlfriend who is vegetarian. The head chef, Rob, will make whatever you want - he was happy to make a delicious pasta dish to suit which was fantastic.
Welcoming Atmosphere & Customer Interaction
We loved the waitress as she was very professional and friendly. She checked that everyone was happy with their meals.

Cleanliness & Hygiene
The tables were wiped down after guests left, the floors were tidy, and the cutlery and glassware were all clean. The open kitchen area looked well-maintained, and the restrooms were very clean and smelt so fresh - more like a 5 star hotel!
Table Reservations
Reservations are available at Bistro 129, which is great. There’s no extra charge for booking a table, and the process is simple—either through their website or by calling ahead. Walk-ins are also welcome, but for peak dinner hours a reservation is a good idea. They have recently adjusted their hours to be open for lunch too.

Food & Drinks
Menu Variety & Dietary Options
The menu is small which is a good sign. Just ask Gordon Ramsay! Basically, a smaller menu typically signifies a fresher, higher quality selection of meals. Restaurants with pages upon pages are a major red flag. They most likely use frozen foods and cut corners to be able to provide so many options.
Not at Bistro 129, each dish is carefully considered to use fresh and in season produce, meats that melt in your mouth and a considered wine list from only the best local wineries.

Children’s Menu Options
For families dining in, we couldn't note any children's menu but I feel if your child is a budding foodie, the head chef will whip up some chicken or child-friendly dish if requested.
Flavours & Quality of Food
The flavours are balanced and so tasty, and everything is market fresh. There is nothing we didn't love!

Overall Verdict
Overall, Bistro 129 in Baldivis is an excellent option for a meal out. The food is outstanding, the service is great, the location is beautiful...
It is a must to book for your next special occasion if you are someone who appreciates quality, wholesome food that is presented with pride and passion.
Keep up the great work guys!
